JD STATUS Terms & Conditions
JD STATUS (“JD STATUS”) is operated by J John David Sports Fashion (Ireland) Limited ('we', 'us', ‘JD’). Our registered office address is 3 Burlington Road, Dublin 4, D04RD68.
JD STATUS is our loyalty scheme accessed using the JD STATUS smartphone application (“JD STATUS App”)
By registering for JD STATUS and using the JD STATUS App, the user ("you", "your") agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read these terms carefully before using JD STATUS and the JD STATUS App.
You can print or download a copy of these Terms and Conditions.
I. JD STATUS

A. What is JD STATUS
1. JD STATUS is the new JD loyalty scheme where you will receive a cashback value known as “JD Cash” when you purchase eligible products from JD.
2. JD Cash then acts as a discount and can then subsequently be used against future purchases made in participating JD Stores. For the avoidance of doubt, JD Cash is not physical cash and cannot be withdrawn or used in any other way other than to claim discounts against future JD purchases in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
3. JD Cash can only be used against in-store purchases.
4. As a STATUS member, you will receive 10% as cashback on your first purchase. For subsequent purchases, 1% cashback will be awarded. These cashback percentages may be amended at any time and/or fluctuate during promotional periods.
5. JD Cash will be available to use after 7 days from the date of your purchase. The JD Cash value will then be available for you to use towards your future purchases for 180 days.
6. JD STATUS is only available through the new JD STATUS App which is available for download from the Google Play and the Apple App Store.
7. Details of the STATUS loyalty scheme, how to become a member, and how to build and use JD Cash are set out below.
8. You may only spend (“burn”) your JD Cash in participating stores. If you elect to burn your JD Cash, you must use the full credit amount. Please see section G for further details. -
B. JD STATUS Membership
1. To be a member of JD STATUS you will need to download the JD STATUS App to your mobile device using Google Play or the Apple App Store. and follow the steps to register for an account.
2. JD STATUS can only be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. You can find further information on JD STATUS, the technical requirements, and any restrictions on the JD STATUS App’s use and compatibility on Google Play or Apple App Store.
3. JD STATUS membership is voluntary and free of charge..
4. To be a JD STATUS member you must:
be aged 18 years of age or over;
have a Republic of Ireland Mobile Number; and
have a valid email address.
5. Once downloaded, to register for JD STATUS simply enter your Republic of Ireland Mobile Number into the JD STATUS App. Once entered, you will receive a one-time passcode which you must enter into the JD STATUS App to verify your Republic of Ireland Mobile Number to complete registration.
6. When you first use the JD STATUS App after registration you must provide the following details:
First Name
Surname
Mobile number
Date of Birth
Email address
Confirmation of your marketing preferences
7. Once you have registered for JD STATUS, you will receive a JD STATUS QR code. You can use this JD STATUS QR Code to begin to build JD Cash immediately, Your JD STATUS QR Code can be saved within the JD STATUS App or to the wallet on your mobile device.
8. It is your responsibility to keep your Republic of Ireland Mobile Number up to date. Where you need to make changes to your Republic of Ireland Mobile Number please contact Customer Services on 0818 222 370 or contact us by email through the following link https://www.jdsports.ie/customer-service/contact/. Failure to do so may lead to your membership being cancelled and will prevent you from earning JD Cash.
9. We apply a limit of one JD STATUS membership per person. Failure to adhere to this may lead to your JD STATUS membership being cancelled. JD reserves the right to refuse, merge or close additional accounts at any time.
10. Employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of JD are eligible for JD STATUS Membership but may be excluded from certain promotions.
11. You may only use JD STATUS for your own personal purposes. JD STATUS membership and JD Cash is not transferable, may not be resold or use for profit, and cannot be redeemed for cash. JD may terminate your membership if JD reasonably suspects your account is not being used for personal purposes.
12. JD STATUS can only be used in the Republic of Ireland of if you are traveling to France or the UK (including the Channel Islands). -
C. Availability of JD STATUS
1. You will be able to use JD STATUS to earn JD Cash on eligible purchases and to use JD Cash towards future purchases of JD products. You can earn JD Cash in store subject to section D.
2. JD STATUS is only available to use in participating JD STATUS Stores located within the Republic of Ireland. Please note that you can only burn your JD Cash when making purchases in-store.
3. Note that not all features of JD STATUS will be available for use in all participating stores. For example, in some participating stores you may only be able to use JD STATUS to earn JD Cash or you may not be able to use your JD Cash to purchase product in all participating stores.
4. JD reserves the rights to add or remove participating stores or change the restrictions which apply to participating stores at any time.
5. Full details or participating stores together with any restrictions on use will be set out in the JD STATUS App.
6. JD is not obliged to, however may choose to make JD STATUS available through other channels including without limitation its web-site, other online channels and m-commerce channels (“Additional Channels”). -
D. JD Cash and How to Earn
1. JD STATUS Members will earn JD Cash when purchasing eligible products at participating JD Stores.
2. Purchases of Gift Cards and Duffle Bags are excluded from JD STATUS.
3. To earn JD Cash in-store you must scan your QR code at the point of purchase.
4. JD STATUS Members can only earn JD Cash on a maximum of three transactions per day. The fourth, and any further transactions within a 24 hour period, will not be eligible to earn JD Cash.
JD CASH EXCLUSIONS
5. JD may update the list of products which are not eligible for JD Cash by removing or adding products at any time. JD will notify you of any changes by updating the JD STATUS App, push notifications or contacting you directly. However, it is your responsibility to check whether a product will be eligible and entitle you to JD Cash prior to purchase.
6. JD Cash will not be payable on Delivery Charges.
7. From time to time, we may also offer other promotions under which you can earn JD Cash. These are at our sole discretion and will be subject to additional terms communicated to you at the time. -
E. Calculation of JD Cash
1. JD Cash will be calculated as a percentage of the purchase price of the eligible product. The applicable percentage will be set out in the JD STATUS App and may vary during promotional periods.
2. JD reserves the right to amend the cashback percentage rate at any time and/or change the method by which JD Cash is calculated. JD will notify you of any changes made by updating the JD STATUS App.
3. Where the price of the eligible product is discounted by JD; if you use a discount code to reduce the purchase price of the eligible product and/or you use your JD Cash as part payment towards the purchase price of the eligible product, then you will only receive JD Cash on the remaining amount paid.
4. Please note that if you travel to the UK and make a purchase in GBP using your STATUS account, this purchase shall be subject to a conversation rate. This means you may receive a different JD Cash amount to a EUR purchase in the Republic of Ireland. -
F. Criteria for Receiving JD Cash
1. To receive your JD Cash you must scan your JD STATUS QR code during checkout at the participating JD store. To scan your JD STATUS QR code you must ensure your device is connected to the internet.
2. If you forget to scan your JD STATUS QR code, don’t worry you can scan the QR code on the original receipt within 28 days of the date of purchase to still claim your JD Cash amount.
3. You are responsible for keeping your original receipt safe and ensuring that the QR Code is undamaged and capable of being scanned.
4. You will not be entitled to, and JD will have no obligation to provide JD Cash in respect of any purchase where (i) you do not scan your JD STATUS QR Code during check out, or (ii) you do not scan your QR code on the original receipt within 28 days, or (iii) you have lost your receipt, or (iv) the receipt is damaged and the QR code is incapable of being scanned.
5. It can take up to 24 hours from the date of purchase for any JD Cash to be added to your JD STATUS App. Once added, JD Cash will show as pending for a further 7 days. After this period, your JD Cash will be available for use.
6. Following the 7-day pending period, your JD Cash will become available to use for 180 days. If you fail to use your JD Cash within the 180-day period, it will automatically expire and be removed from your balance if not used. -
G. “Burning”JD Cash
1. If you wish to use your JD Cash, you must burn your full JD Cash credit amount in any transaction. For example, if you have a JD Cash balance of €15.50, you cannot choose to only use €10 of the balance amount and save the other €5 for a future purchase, you must use €15 (as this is the figure to the nearest EUR). Your remaining balance would then be 50 EUR-Cent. Currently JD Cash must be burnt in increments of €1.
2. Where you do not have enough JD Cash to pay for the item in full and you wish to use JD Cash as part payment then you must use all of the JD Cash you have available towards that purchase. You are not permitted to use some of your JD Cash towards the purchase and leave some JD Cash in your JD STATUS App for future purchases. For example, if you have a JD Cash balance of €10.50 and the cost of the purchase is €50.00, you can use €10.00 JD Cash and pay the €40.00 balance in real cash.
3. You can use up to €200 in JD Cash in a single transaction.
4. Where the amount of JD Cash you have is more than the purchase price then you must pay for the item in full using JD Cash and any amount of JD Cash remaining will be available for use against other purchases.
5. Where you return an item and request a refund:
1. If you earnt JD Cash on the item then the JD Cash earnt on that purchase will be removed from your JD Cash balance.
2. Where the item was purchased in full using JD Cash then JD Cash will be readded to the JD Cash in your JD STATUS App and no cash refund will be made;
3. Where the item was purchased using JD Cash and Cash/Card payment, then you will be refunded the amount paid in cash or by card and the amount paid by JD Cash will be added to the JD Cash in your JD STATUS App.
4. Please note that you can only burn your JD Cash in the country you created your account in.
II. GENERAL

A. Our Responsibilities
1. We provide the JD STATUS App which enables you to participate in JD STATUS. In doing so, we:
1. provide you with a licence to use the JD STATUS App to enable you to keep an accurate track of your JD Cash;
2. enable you to earn and use JD Cash in each case, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
2. JD STATUS has been developed using the utmost care and we strive to provide you with access to, and the use of, the JD STATUS App at all reasonable times. We also agree to carry out the JD STATUS loyalty scheme with reasonable care and skill, which includes (amongst other things) that we will seek to ensure the JD Cash balance shown in the JD STATUS App is an accurate record of the JD Cash you should have received. If you believe there is an error with your JD Cash balance, please contact our Customer Care Team on the details referenced above.
3. However, we cannot guarantee that: (i) JD STATUS or the JD STATUS App is always free of errors, meets certain requirements or can be used in a particular way; (ii) you will have continuous or uninterrupted access; or (iii) the information available via the JD STATUS App is complete, accurate and up-to-date.
4. The JD STATUS App may contain links to websites or content of third parties. None of that third party content will have been verified or reviewed by us. We do not endorse any third parties. You must make your own decisions about dealing with them and accessing any of their content. If anything goes wrong whilst, or because of, using a third party’s website, or dealing with a third party, you must contact (including claims and complaints) that third party directly. JD has no liability for any third-party website. -
B. Your Responsibilities
1. When using the JD STATUS App you must adhere to the following rules:
i. you must not remove, copy or modify any aspect of the JD STATUS App;
ii. you must not use the service to take unlawful, misleading, malicious or discriminatory action;
iii. you must not upload any viruses, Trojan horses or other malware or malicious code;
iv. you must not access a user account that belongs to another user;
v. you must not collect any content or information from other users using automated methods (such as bots, robots, spiders or scrapers) without JD’s prior consent, and you must not use these methods to access the service in any other way;
vi. you must not allow third parties to access your JD STATUS account or JD STATUS App;
vii. you must not attempt to use JD Cash more than once except as expressly permitted in these terms; and
viii. you must not use your access to the JD STATUS App to generate income of any kind, for example, selling JD Cash to another individual. -
C. Intellectual Property Rights
a. Upon the activation of your account, you have the right to install, display and use the JD STATUS App on your mobile device.
b. We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in JD STATUS and the JD STATUS App and any JD STATUS material and their contents. Such rights are protected by laws and treaties around the world and we reserve all of these rights.
c. Other trade marks, service marks or logos that appear on the JD STATUS App, including those of food and beverage brands, are the property of their respective owners and are likely to be registered trade marks and subject to restrictions as to their use. They must not be used without our express permission and, where applicable, the trade mark owner's express permission. -
D. JD STATUS App Updates
1. From time to time, we may issue updates to the JD STATUS App and change JD STATUS or the JD STATUS App to improve performance, enhance functionality, reflect changes in the operating system, or address security issues, or to discontinue or remove out of date functionality. Updates will be made available via Google Play and the Apple App Store. Depending on the update, you may not be able to continue to use the JD STATUS App until you have downloaded the latest version of the JD STATUS App and accepted any new terms.

E. Our Right to Make Changes to JD STATUS
1. We can make changes to the JD STATUS loyalty scheme, the JD STATUS App and these Terms and Conditions at any time immediately on written notice.
2. Notice shall be given within the JD STATUS App. By continuing to use the JD STATUS App following notification of any change you agree to any changes we make. If you do not accept the changes, then you can end your Membership of JD STATUS as per II.G below. -
F. Our Rights to End JD STATUS
1. We reserve the right to terminate JD STATUS at any time upon giving at least 30 days' notice to you. Your JD STATUS account will automatically terminate on the date immediately following expiry of the 30 days’ notice (“the Termination Date”).
2. If we give notice that we are terminating JD STATUS then we may end your ability to earn JD Cash prior to the Termination Date which may be from the date of the notice or such other date as JD decides.
3. You will still be able to use any JD Cash as discount towards any purchases up to the Termination Date.
4. Any remaining JD Cash will automatically expire on the Termination Date. Except for providing the notice set out in II.F.1 above JD shall be under no obligation to issue any further communications or reminders about the termination of JD STATUS. You are solely responsible for checking your JD Cash balance and ensuring that all JD Cash is used prior to the Termination Date.
5. We may also suspend or terminate your rights to use JD STATUS at any time by contacting you if you have seriously or persistently breached these terms. For example:
i. any proven or reasonably assumed abuse of JD STATUS;
ii. failure to follow these terms, including failing to keep your email and contact details up to date and having more than one membership account; and
iii. any conduct detrimental to the interests of JD.
6. Serious breach of these terms may also affect eligibility for future participation in JD STATUS or any other scheme that replaces it. -
G. Your Rights to End JD STATUS
1. You can end your JD STATUS Membership at any time by calling customer services on 0818 222 370 OR by following instructions to ‘delete account’ within your profile on the JD STATUS App
2. If you fail to use all of your JD Cash prior to account deletion, any JD Cash remaining in your JD STATUS App will automatically expire on termination.
3. Following deletion of your JD STATUS account, the account and previous JD Cash balance cannot be reinstated. If you wish to re-join JD STATUS you will need to sign up for a new JD STATUS account. -
H. Limitation of Liability
1. We will not be responsible to you for loss of profits or revenue, loss of use, lost business or missed opportunities, or for any loss or damage that is indirect and/or was not reasonably foreseeable at the time these Terms and Conditions were entered into.
2. We are only responsible for direct losses as a result of us breaching these Terms and Conditions.
3. Our liability will be limited to value of the JD Cash in your JD STATUS App at the time of the breach (together with any other refund you are duly owed).
4. We do not accept any responsibility to you:
1. for any damage you suffer to any device or digital content belonging to you if the digital content we have supplied via the JD STATUS App causes such damage and that damage could have been avoided by following our guidelines on how to use the service, contacting us for help with the service, following our advice to apply an update to the service, or for damage that was caused by you failing to correctly follow installation/download instructions or your unlawful use of the service;
2. if you are unable to access the JD STATUS due to there being no or limited WLAN connection or internet connectivity being available through your device.
5. We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
6. We are not responsible for events outside our control. If there is any interruption to the operation or availability of JD STATUS App due to an event outside our control, we will let you know as soon as possible and take reasonable steps to minimise the impact. Provided we do this we will not be responsible for any loss which may be incurred by you as a result of any suspension or interruption to the availability of the JD STATUS App. Access to the JD STATUS App may need to be suspended temporarily from time to time in the case of system failure or for maintenance or repair.
7. We are only liable for the loss of data (i) in accordance with the limitations of liability set out above and (ii) if the loss could not have been prevented by appropriate data protection measures taken by you.
8. These Terms and Conditions shall not affect any rights which you may have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (also known as your 'statutory rights'). You may also have other rights in law. -
I. Contacting Each other
1. Depending on your marketing preferences, we may contact you about JD STATUS using your registered email address and via the JD STATUS App using push notifications. This may include the purposes of conducting surveys about JD STATUS or information about your Membership.
2. If you no longer wish to receive notifications from JD through the app, you can manage your preferences and opt out by disabling push notifications in your phone settings.

J. Additional Terms
1. Your JD STATUS Membership is personal, non-transferable and subject to these terms.
2. If any term of these terms of use is found to be unenforceable, this will not affect the validity of the other terms.
3. You may not transfer any of your rights under these Terms and Conditions to any other person. We may transfer our rights under these Terms and Conditions to another business where we reasonably believe your rights will not be affected.
4. Failure by either of us to enforce rights under these Terms and Conditions shall not prevent you or us (as the case may be) from taking further action.
5. These Terms and Conditions (including the JD Privacy Policy athttps://www.jdsports.ie/customer-service/privacy/) constitute the whole agreement between you and JD and supersede all other agreements which relate to the same subject matter. Neither party hereby excludes its liability for fraud.
6. Irish law applies to these Terms and Conditions and any disputes about these Terms and Conditions or your Membership of JD STATUS.
7. You may make a claim in any of the courts of the Republic of Ireland with respect to your membership of JD STATUS.
8. A person who is not a party to these Terms and Conditions shall have no right to enforce any term of these Terms and Conditions.
