Such is the comfort that sandals, flip flops and slides promises, they’re no longer just a vacay vibe, they’ve become a daily staple. Whether you’re chilling at home, need a quick change after the gym, or want something a little smarter for a Summer’s evening, our range of men’s sandals has big brands and stacks of styles!
How Should Sandals Fit Men?
A key thing to consider when copping sandals is arch support. Without proper support, you could wind up hurting your feet, and nobody wants that to happen. Here’s what you need to do to try and avoid any annoying niggles.
You need to consider where your foot sits on the sole. It’s important that there is a little space between your heel and the back strap of the sandal – a happy medium of snug, but not too snug!
If a heel strap isn’t your style and you prefer mules or flip flops, be sure your toes don’t hang over the edge. It’s also worth keeping an eye out that your feet don’t sit on any stitching to avoid discomfort.
To get the sizing right, here are five things you can do:
- Check there’s a small gap between your heel and the back strap.
- Make sure there’s a small distance between your big toe and the edge of the sandal.
- Be sure that the straps feel secure when tightened – but not to the extent that they dig into your skin
- If you’re normally a half-size, consider getting a slightly larger fit.
- Give them a test ride! If your heel slips or your foot lifts away from the sole; size down.
How To Wear Men’s Sandals
Ultimately, this is up to you. But with loads of designs to choose from, there are plenty of styling options, we’ve rounded up a few for you.
Fisherman sandals have been around for a while, and it’s no wonder why, they’re a classic. Usually crafted with leather and featuring buckles, they make for a fresh ‘fit when worn with a light-coloured button-down shirt and a pair of chinos.
Built to give you a secure fit without sacrificing breathability, a pair of gladiator sandals are an essential for warmer days. They look great with a baggy shirt and a pair of cargo shorts. “Are you not entertained?”
No? How about a pair of mules, then? Mules can be worn with more formal attire, but they’re also incredibly versatile, so they still look fire with a casual ‘fit.
Lightweight, convenient, and bringing a sporty aesthetic, slides are a must for your rotation. They can be worn with shorts, joggers, and even your pyjamas (we won’t tell anyone). They look especially fresh with a replica shirt of your favourite team!
What Are The Most Comfortable Men’s Sandals?
You’ll be wearing sandals primarily in warmer weather and feeling the breeze is the main benefit. So whatever pair of sandals you opt for, be sure they offer plenty of airflow.
Secondly, a healthy amount of support and cushioning is imperative. When choosing your sandals, look out for soft and responsive footbeds to keep your feet feeling caressed during long excursions.
If you’ve narrow feet, a pair of sandals with straps will be better suited to avoid any slipping. Closed-toe sandals aren’t the best option if you’ve wide feet, instead, try a design with a wider sole.
